Partner & Family Law Solicitor
Jennifer joined Maguire Family Law in June 2013 and was promoted to partner in 2018.
Jennifer provides advice on all areas of family law including children matters, divorce and finances; alongside non-contentious matters such as pre/post-nuptial agreements.
There is a significant international element to Jennifer’s work: it includes matters involving cases of international child abduction and relocation and financial matters with an international element, including enforcement issues and cross jurisdictional cases. Jennifer’s recent cases have involved the US, Australia, Kuwait, Bali, South Africa, Germany, Canada and Japan.
Jennifer is also instructed in matters that involve domestic abuse (including non-molestation orders and occupation orders). One of her strengths is in taking comprehensive instructions on these sensitive matters, providing straightforward but sympathetic advice whilst often having to act quickly and under pressure to safeguard her client’s interests, peace of mind and, ultimately their safety.
Jennifer is able to assimilate complex information and prides herself on her technical drafting skills, whilst balancing this with providing advice to clients in a way which is accessible to them.
Jennifer Curtis has had an article included in the recent book published on behalf of Only Mums & Only Dads. The book aims to help separating parents keep their children’s best interests first. Maguire Family Law are a long-term supporter of the social enterprise OnlyMums & OnlyDads and are a member of their Family Law Panel.
Director Henry Venables and senior associate Jennifer Curtis ensure that ‘clients feel supported throughout; they take a sensible approach to negotiation and are always meticulously prepared’
